General Information

Dissolution Technologies welcomes submissions related to dissolution, in vitro release and disintegration testing. These topics should be the major focus of the article. Do not submit articles where the focus is formulation development and dissolution testing is one of many tests. If you have questions, please submit to the Research Editor, vagray@rcn.com, for prescreening.

All articles should be submitted to the PeerTrack ™ website, www.edmgr.com/dt in order to be considered for publication. For inquires email the Research Editor, vagray@rcn.com.

The article will then be peer-reviewed by at least two experts in the field. The process may take as long as two months. All articles will be prescreened using the Harvard Guide to Using Sources, http://isites.harvard.edu/icb/icb.do?keyword=k70847&pageid=icb.page342054. If plagiarism is found, the article will be rejected and cannot be resubmitted.

After acceptance, the article will be reviewed by the Associate Editor, and then edited. The primary author will receive a pdf file of the article for review before the issue is printed.

Authors are encouraged to review their articles before submission to verify accuracy, correct typographical errors, and clarify acronyms or abbreviations. The author, not Dissolution Technologies, is responsible for any statements made in the article.

Conflict of interest

Authors are required to disclose any possible conflict of interest when submitting a paper. These can include financial conflicts of interest (e.g., patent ownership, stock ownership, consultancies, speaker's fee). All conflict of interest (or information specifying the absence of conflict of interest) should be included at the end of the article under "Conflicts of Interest." This information will be included in the published article.

If the author does not have any conflict of interest, the following statement should be included: "No conflict of interest has been declared by the author(s)."

Electronic File Submission Guidelines:

Files can be prepared as Word documents on either a Mac or PC platform. Figures and tables should not exceed six combined. The Figures and Tables can be placed at the end of the manuscript or in a separate document but not embedded in the text.

TEXT

Articles should not exceed 25 double-spaced pages including references, Figures, and Tables. Detailed information on grammar, format, and content may be found in the ACS Style Guide¹.

• Use tables for tabular or columnar information.
• Please limit the use of formatting (bold, italic, etc.).
• Do not italicize Latin words or abbreviations (e.g., in vitro, in vivo, in silico, et al.).
• Use only one space after a period at the end of a sentence.
• Set copy to flush left and do not justify.
• Strip out any unnecessary tabs and page breaks. Do not use carriage returns at the end of lines except at the end of paragraphs.
• Do not add manual hyphens.
• The manuscript should have an Abstract section.
• Please identify article sections (i.e., Abstract, Introduction, subheads, Conclusions, References) on a separate line before the text of the section begins.
• Avoid numerical outline formatting.
• Do not include professional or official titles or academic degrees.

If accepted for publication, a manuscript becomes the property of Dissolution Technologies. Written permission must be obtained from Dissolution Technologies to reprint an article elsewhere. If the article has been published previously in another publication, it is the responsibility of the author to obtain written permission to republish.

Illustrations/Tables/Photos

Please reference illustrations and tables in the text (i.e., Figure 1, Figure 2, Table 1, etc.). Mark each illustration or table accordingly. Illustrations and tables must each be submitted on a separate page at the end of the text.

Digital specifications: Photos must be TIFF, EPS, or JPG (preferably over 300 dpi). FTP transfers are possible; contact the Research Editor for details.

It is the responsibility of the author to ensure that all rights for reproduction of photos have been obtained from the photographer.

TRADEMARKS

Brand names that are registered trademarks should be capitalized if they must be used. A better choice is to substitute a generic term when available. Although the symbols ® and ™ often accompany trademark names on product packaging and in promotional material, there is no legal requirement to use these symbols, and they should be omitted wherever possible.

References

References are cited by italic numbers in parentheses on the line of text and inside the punctuation. References should be grouped together in a section at the end of the text and arranged according to their order of mention in the manuscript. Include all author names in a reference citation (i.e., avoid the use of "et al."). Detailed information on format and content may be found in the ACS Style Guide¹. all references. If an online reference is cited, the author must verify that the URL is valid at the time of submission and note the date the link was accessed. If a reference contains a DOI link, it should be included in the reference text.

• Periodical references: Author names, abbreviated journal title, year of publication, volume number (if any), and pages of cited article.
